2005 AVON BREAST CANCER 3-DAY
The Avon Breast Cancer 3-Days are revolutionary fundraising events in which more than 3,000 people walk approximately 60 miles over three days to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. Monies raised fund breast cancer programs and organizations nationwide in the areas of medical research; financial assistance and support services for breast cancer survivors, patients and their families; educational seminars; and early detection services.

Walkers participating in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Days are challenged both mentally and physically, but the 3-Day is not solely for athletes. Women and men of all ages and physical fitness levels take part, and participants travel at their own pace, walking an average of 20 miles a day
for three days. Every step of the way, an army of 500 volunteer crew supports the walkers with catered hot meals, gear transport, water and snack stops, hot showers, and comprehensive medical services. Each evening, walkers enjoy camaraderie, entertainment and sleep under the
stars in supplied tents in the 3-Day's dramatic "Mobile City."
